Adventures into an Unknown World
(A series of Watercolor Paintings)
Caves have always fascinated me with their mysterious interiors, interesting formations, and beautiful colors. The sky, planets, the moon and space in general amaze me as well. This series is a combination of these two fantastic worlds coming together in order to create an unworldly space. My inspirations for this series came from caves that I have visited in person throughout my life and those that I have only seen in pictures. A personal collection of cave pictures is the main reference in creating these paintings. Aerial photos of Earth are also referenced when choosing the colors and textures. The sky is created based on the nights that I would spend in the backyard staring at the sky as a child. These paintings are imaginary scenes that reference reality. Lines, shapes, colors and forms come together to create a world that might exist on Earth or an undiscovered planet located somewhere in the galaxy.
